The Consulting Engineers of Alberta Young Professionals Group Calgary (CEA YPG) in collaboration with Inland Pipe present a facility technical tour and presentation at the Inland Pipe manufacturing facility located in Northwest Calgary.

This facility tour and presentation will provide valuable insight into the manufacturing process of concrete pipe and precast concrete products. A guided facility tour, with accompanying short presentation, will explain and showcase key elements regarding the manufacturing process of concrete pipe and precast concrete products and attendees will also learn about the automation incorporated into many aspects of the production facility.

The facility was completed in 2009 and produces concrete pipe and various other precast concrete products which are used in the sewer and drainage industry.

The facility incorporates numerous technologies into the precast concrete manufacturing process including: a computer-regulated concrete batching system, an automatic circular reinforcing cage manufacturing machine, a hydraulic moving floor, and a robotic pipe handling system.

The tour will give participants a chance to learn more about the technical aspects of manufacturing concrete pipe and precast concrete products including information on both dry and wet cast precast manufacturing methods.

Lunch will be provided.

* PPE is required. Please bring hard hat, safety vest, steel toed boots, safety glasses.*
