Description:

We are currently searching for a Field Engineer based at a project site in Inuvik, NT with rotations also in our Edmonton office. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site representation for projects in the transportation sector. This will include inspection services on active construction sites outside of Alberta, monitoring for project quality and the contractor’s adherence to codes, standards and specifications. As the ideal candidate, you are an excellent communicator with effective organizational skills and leadership potential, who thrives in a dynamic work environment. Your abilities will be strengthened and grown through a range of projects focused on the delivery and management of transportation projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring the Contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms, design specifications, and drawings.
  • Monitoring progress and schedules.
  • Preparing daily & weekly reports.
  • Maintaining projects records and site diaries.
  • Reviewing contractor work procedure submissions.
  • Monitoring of quality control testing.
  • Reviewing on-site quantities.
  • Contract administration.

Qualifications:

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in structural/civil construction inspection and contract administration.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Committed team player and highly self-motivated.
  • This position will require frequent travel. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
