About the Opportunity

Our growing Kamloops office is looking to add Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to our team to help deliver great service in civil infrastructure projects with our municipal and Indigenous clients across British Columbia. In this role, you will benefit from the support of industry professionals while working on exciting and results-oriented projects that make a visible difference in the communities that we serve. Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities, some of your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Hone your civil engineering skills and develop an understanding of technical best practices in real-world applications
  • Apply theory and provide workable solutions related to the design and implementation of municipal infrastructure
  • Act as the clients' representative on-site during construction to gather information, conduct inspections and ensure designs are built to specifications
  • Build and grow relationships with existing project leaders and clients; proactively and professionally communicate with contractors, co-workers, clients, and the general public
  • Provide accurate and timely input on technical reports, plans, studies, proposals, and oral presentations as required

Qualifications:

About You

This opportunity is well suited to upcoming December graduates from a civil, environmental or chemical engineering program. However, up to 3 years of experience will also be considered beneficial. Candidates should be eligible for registration with EGBC. In addition, the following attributes would be considered a benefit to this role:

  • A keen interest in pursuing a career working on civil infrastructure design and construction in Western Canada, based out of Kamloops
  • Effective communication skills (technical, written and verbal), and you enjoy collaborating with others
  • Ability to be engaged on multiple projects, prioritize work and meet timelines, and generally thrive in a self-directed work environment
  • Driven with a desire to take initiative, a problem solver that continually delivers consistent, high-quality work
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
  • Hold a valid class 5 drivers’ license
