SEDA Geomatics Inc. (a division of SE Design and Consulting Inc.) has a career opportunity for a Geomatics Technologist serving clients in Northeast Alberta. The position is open to applicants in either Edmonton, Alberta or in Cold Lake, Alberta.

SEDA Geomatics Inc. is a newly formed firm offering legal surveying services to clients in Northeastern Alberta, leveraging off of both 30 years of experience in the region and partnerships to offer a high level of client service and delivery.

Description:

Position Description:

  • We are seeking a motivated individual who has a minimum of 7 years’ experience providing geomatics and legal survey services at the party chief level.
  • This position is suitable for applicants wishing to be involved in data processing, plan preparation and final delivery of information to clients and approving agencies
  • Applicant to note this is a safety sensitive position.

Position Duties:

  • Provide data acquisition on legal boundaries, topographic surveys, and construction layout
  • Computations of boundary data and plan preparation
  • Quality Assurance / Control tasks for construction and geomatics projects. Perform general office, data management and survey administrative duties.
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center and MicroSurvey drafting would be an asset.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • A graduate from a recognized Geomatics Engineering Technology or related program.
  • CBEPS Candidate or interest in starting the ALSA articling process is an asset
  • Experience and certification in UAV data collection is desirable
  • Minimum 7 years’ previous surveying experience is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive work ethic and ability to work independently on a variety of projects.
  • Previous experience with construction inspection would be an asset.
  • Committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.

    Compensation:

  • Base salary range is $55k to $64k per year and is overtime eligible commensurate with experience.
