Public speaking is something that consulting engineers use in often in their day-to-day work. Whether it’s presenting to clients, management, or even their peers, public speaking is a very important tool for communication.

RJ Skyers, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Tetra Tech, will be the presenter for this event. He will be giving tips on presenting, both when presenting in real life, and over virtual mediums such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, which is becoming more and more common.

This event is hosted by the CEA Edmonton Young Professional group but is open to CEA members of all ages and backgrounds.

RJ Skyers

RJ Skyers, a Registered Professional Recruiter, is an HR professional with over 15 years of experience as a Talent Scout and Human Resources Business Partner. RJ has built his career on building and maintaining successful partnerships with both clients and candidates. Using a consultative and collaborative approach, RJ focuses on delivering the strongest talent that enables organizations to achieve their business goals. He thrives on solving complex problems, streamlining processes, and helping senior leaders devise a strategy for their hiring needs and succession plans. 

RJ has worked in various industries for example, IT, Finance, Engineering, Architecture, Pharmaceutical, Natural Resources, and Logistics & Supply Chain. He’s recruited talent from fresh graduates to seasoned professionals, and worked with boutique to large international staffing agencies as well as Fortune 500 companies. 

Outside of work, RJ has mentored several skilled immigrants to navigate through the Canadian job market. Also, he has volunteered with several community groups such as: animal rescues, a youth group as an Executive Director, and sat on various community executive boards. During RJ’s downtime he handcrafts leather goods for his 4-year-old Chocolate Lab, Oliver.

Cancellation Policy

In order to receive a partial refund, a request for cancellation must be received by email at finance@cea.ca prior to the registration deadline. No refunds will be provided after the refund cut-off date of the event. To avoid disappointment, early registration for activities is encouraged as space may be limited.

Refunds will be subject to a $25.00 administrative fee.

Substitutions are welcome. Please contact the CEA office with any changes: finance@cea.ca or 780-421-1852.

CEA has the right to cancel an activity due to low attendance, a full refund will then be offered.
