Description:

Amec Foster Wheeler is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Lead to expand our team in the Edmonton office. The office handles a variety of projects for clients in the public and private sectors. We currently maintain a strong relationship with our provincial and municipal government clients and wish to strengthen our role with these existing clients while expanding our services with Urban Municipalities located throughout Northern Alberta.

 

The Senior Infrastructure Lead will play a key role in local management as well as interfacing with a larger network of technical expertise. This is a highly visible role, which balances management of technical teams with the opportunity to make improvements to operations, and become a strategic member of teams going after new business. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide leadership to sustain and expand our successful multi-discipline Infrastructure operation. Key responsibilities:

  • Lead business development activities for infrastructure services to key clients including Alberta Transportation, the City of Edmonton and Urban/Rural Municipalities located throughout Northern Alberta

  • Lead the preparation of proposals, capture plans and major pursuits in Northern Alberta

  • Serve as a senior project manager and / or project expert on major projects

  • Manage a team involved in a variety of professional engineering assignments related to infrastructure works in both urban and rural environments

  • Develop and manage financial budgets and regular reporting relative to the plan

  • Provide input to the strategic plan and identification of new long term growth opportunities

  • Communicate effectively with clients, staff and Amec Foster Wheeler leadership

  • Provide senior review and direction on technical projects including management of quality assurance processes to meet internal and client needs

  • Coordinate with other units in related operations

  • Develop existing staff and identify and recruit new prospects for future growth

Qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Member (or eligible for membership) with APEGA

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant Engineering experience with 3-5 years management experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development; experience and contacts within the City of Edmonton and surrounding Municipalities a strong asset

  • Strong business development skills with proven track record of winning proposals and managing projects in a fast track growing consulting environment

  • Experience managing technical staff and large projects

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills

  • High-level strategic planning, organization and execution skills

  • Experience managing and motivating diverse workforce of project managers and technical staff
